Minutes of 65th Annual General Meeting held on Monday 10th February 2014 at Rossdale Golf
Club
1. Opening
President Bernie Coyle opened the meeting at 1.15pm and warmly welcomed all members present.
2. Apologies
Apologies were received from George Weaver, Lindsay Quennell, Stan Odachowski, Bill Dooley, Don Barrett, John Molloy, Roger Huxstep, Colin Wiseman, Tom Govern, John Currie and Barry Pollock.
3. Minutes
Bernie asked those members present if there were any matters arising from the Minutes of the 64th AGM.
There were no matters arising.

All those in favour - carried
4. Correspondence
Acting Secretary, Bernie Coyle, reported that no correspondence of note had been received.
5. Annual Reports
Bernie stated that all reports had also been fully circulated
to each and every member and that he did not propose that they all be read out.

Captain's Report
Geoff Cohen asked if the Tri-series has gone forever and was advised that it most likely is. He also asked us to consider if the Eagle Ridge day could be a normal game and the Ambrose moved to another venue. The committee would examine this.

Treasurer's Report -
Geoff Cohen stated that it was inappropriate that those who said they would attend the Christmas party and did not should not have to pay. He suggested that in future all those going should pre-pay.
Laurie Comerford congratulated the Treasurer for such a good report.

6. Election of Office Bearers for 2014
In accordance with Section 10 of the Constitution, all 2013 office
bearers have resigned.
Life Member Lance Bolam was asked to conduct the election for the 2014 Club President. He also added a note of appreciation for all the work done by the outgoing committee
- Bernie Coyle was nominated by Donald MacDonald and seconded by David Vine
There being no other nominations, Bernie was declared elected and assumed the Chair.
- Gary Finnis was nominated for Vice President by David Vine and seconded by Ray Desmond.
There being no other nominations, Gary was declared elected.
- Donald MacDonald was nominated for Captain by Ray Desmond and seconded by David Vine.
There being no other nominations, Donald was declared elected.
- Michael Bainbridge was nominated for Vice Captain by Ray Desmond and seconded by Bernie Coyle
There being no other nominations, Michael was declared elected.
- David Vine was nominated for Treasurer by Ray Desmond and seconded by Gary Finnis.
There being no other nominations, David was declared elected.
- Ray Desmond was nominated for Handicapper by David Vine and seconded by Gary Finnis.
There being no other nominations, Ray was declared elected.
- Daryl Edwards was nominated for Marketing by Gary Finnis and seconded by Ray Desmond.
There being no other nominations, Daryl was declared elected.
- Stan Odachowski was nominated as Secretary by Gary Finnis and seconded by Ray Desmond.
There being no other nominations, Stan was declared elected.
7. Annual Subscription and Match Fee
President Bernie advised the meeting that:
The outgoing Committee has recommended that the Monthly Competition fee remain at $40.00 and that the host club members continue to pay $10.

8. General Business

- Alex Johnson asked whether we had considered introducing the new handicapping system. President Bernie stated that we are looking at a system that will allow us to do so but it must include our members who do not have an official handicap. We have a system in mind and will run it in parallel with our existing system to see if is suitable. If by mid year it proves so, then the committee will discuss its introduction.
- Geoff Cohen asked whether we had considered introducing a social membership basis to allow people to come to lunch etc. President Bernie advised that they can attend at any time provided that they give us notice to advise the caterers.
- Geoff Cohen also asked whether we would consider introducing a 9 hole competition for hot days. President Bernie stated that this would be referred to the committee for discussion.
There were no more matters raised.
