5.2 President's Report

President Ray Underwood presented his circulated report for 2009 and highlighted that this Was our 60th Anniversary year in which the club has seen a year of consolidation both on And off the golf course.
In 2009 we gained 12 new members and the committee was able to stabilize the majority of our expenditure after the increased costs of both administration and golf related in 2008.
Ray thanked all the members of the committee for their support and tireless input to ensure all Our activities were both enjoyable and successful, in particular special thanks to our Vice Captain For the past 3 years "Peter Kearney" for a job well done.
Handicapper Grant has done a great job, as evidence at our Christmas Luncheon presentation day When of the 8 annual trophies presented only 1 was won by a 2008 winner, Proof indeed that Grant's system is working well.
Marketing Guru Ken, and our major sponsor Pat Levy of J.M.Gillies ensured we had great trophie throughout the year with special thanks to those many members who kindly donated prizes towarc Our Monthly Raffle run by Ken Gangell. This raffle was well supported by all the members and made a significant contribution to ensuring our finances, remained in the black "Thank you Ken"
Captain Bernie has arranged an interesting and challenging selection of courses for 2010, His quiet but efficient oversight of our golf days during 2009 ensured we all had a relaxed and enjoyable round,
Treasurer John, has again kept a watchful eye on our expenses and ensured we finish the year in a healthy financial position.

In conclusion Ray on behalf of himself, the committee and all members acknowledged tireless work of Secretary Lance in the organization and the administration of the club, Lance is continually in touch with all members particularly those enduring poor health, And his monthly newsletter keep all members up to date with our clubs activities and Member's circumstances, Well done Lance, What would we do without you ?
My personal thanks to Lance for his guidance on the performance of my Presidential duties.
Thanks to all members for their support and participation in club activities during 2009 And I look forward to another year of fun and fellowship in 2010.

5.3 Captain's Report

Captain Bernie Coyle presented his circulated report, and he expressed what a good year it Had been for the club, with increased numbers at most venues each month, This was evidenced in late November when playing at Keysborough with 46 members and guest player.

He hopes this trend will continue throughout 2010 when we play at our "signature" golf Courses Keysborough and Cranbourne and our special Ambrose event played at Eagle Ridge in June was a great success.

It was also very pleasing to see so many different faces win the various prizes awarded At our Christmas Lunch.

The 2010 programrne has been finalized with 13 games scheduled with the addition of Sandhurst In March and Amstel in December. The match committee charter is to continue playing at these better courses and with games at Centenary Park and Churchill Park we can continue to subsidise them and to keep our costs at $35.00.

In conclusion Bernie expressed his special thanks to various people who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the Monthly game of golf more enjoyable: namely Grant Hazelgrove (Handicapper), Peter Kearney (Vice Captain), and all the members who acted as starters for each game.

Bernie urged all members to volunteer to help as starters each month to help share the load; it is not difficult but a very essential one. To all the other committee members: Marketing Guru Ken Gangell (Marketing) for the Monthly Raffle prizes etc. and all the other members of the committee for a job well done.

There is one other person that I work closely with throughout the year and keeps the clubs Administration under control Lance Bolam. I could not fulfill my role as Captain without his help and I would like to thank him publicly for his tireless work for the club.
Finally thank you for being patient with me 2009 and play well in 2010.
