Bernie welcomed all members to Churchill Park and thanked the Club for the use of their course and facilities.

He also thanked Joe Cirnigliaro, George Giles and Harold Hayes for playing with him, he enjoyed it particularly with his partner, George.

Number of Players

He said that today we had a reduced number of starters with a total of 31. It has been a bad winter for us golfers, but we do need the rain.

Today we have quite a few apologies as some have the bug and others are touring warmer climates. Alan Baker, John Molloy, Ken Pride, David Vine, Gary Morland, Noel Valle, Alex Johnson, Neil Street, Laurie Comerford, Hans Bleeker, Chris Donald, Gary finnis, Terry Donohue and Paul Pelzer.

Sick List

Good to see some of those who were ill back with us, but Donald is back in hospital having his last op hopefully, which went well and he expects to be home later this week with a clean bill of health. He was in good spirits yesterday giving me a serve over the Bulldogs fluking another win over the Swans, He also said he will enjoy his nice warm bed today whilst we are out there enjoying the weather.

Also sick are Daryl Gangell, Malcolm Turner, Neil Hills, Peter Ross, Reg Davey and quite a few others who have the flu.

Starters for Churchill Park

Bernie thanked the evergreen Lance Bolam and Noel Manning for their help today.

We cannot proceed without volunteers to run these events every month and we really appreciate your assistance. Please consider helping?

Bernie thanked Ray Desmond for his donation of the balls today.

Special Achievements

Bernie stated that he did not know of any this month which is very unusual and perhaps it must be the cold weather.

He asked if anyone else had won; but there were none? If you do win, please let me know as we sometimes miss the notices.

Bernie stated that we need to keep bringing along new members. He urged all members to look around and ask their friends to come along.

Raffle Prizes

Roger Huxstep won today and received vouchers for a round for 4 at Churchill Park.

Bernie reminded us of our agreement with the Innes Ireland at the House of Golf Brighton, who are subsidising all of our winners’ vouchers and urged us to support them.

Club Gear

Reminder that Club polo shirts and jumpers are available from Daryl Edwards.

Vets Web Site

Development continues, thanks to Laurie Comerford who is off on holidays. Thanks to Roger Huxstep who is sitting in for Laurie.

Please bear with us as we may be slower getting the Newsletter out whilst Laurie is away.

Whilst I am thanking people, thanks to Alan Millard for standing in for David Vine who has the flu.
