August 2014 Newsletter

On Monday 4 August 2014 we played at Cranbourne Golf Club. Our game on the day was a Stableford event for the John Sant Trophy.

President Bernie welcomed all members to Cranbourne GC.

He thanked the Cranbourne GC for the use of their excellent course, their great facilities and lunch.

He also reminded players about slow play. You should keep up with the group in front of you and not the one behind.

He asked all of our members to adopt this approach in future games.

Apologies were received from Neil Hills, Alan Baker, Brian Guinane, Wayne Lamb, Peter Bryan, Laurie Comerford, Peter Charlewood and Donald MacDonald.

We now have an agreement with the House of Golf at Brighton whereby they are subsidising all our winners' vouchers, so please support the House of Golf at Brighton and tell them you are from the Vic Vets group.

The Club's web site is now up and running.  It can be accessed at:

Laurie Comerford will address member access problems when he returns from leave.

Today was the first day we used our new handicapping system and it appeared to run very smoothly.

Bernie asked members if they had any concerns about it and there were none.

He congratulated everybody who has been involved in the systems development.
