On Monday 10 February 2014, we had 53 starters at Rossdale Golf Club. Our game on the day was Stableford and we played for the Royce Hollingsworth Trophy.
President Bernie welcomed all members to Rossdale GC. He welcomed back all travellers and those who had been sick in recent times.
He thanked the Club for the use of their course, facilities and lunch.
Apologies were received from Stan Odachowski, Lindsay Quennell, George Weaver, Bill Dooley, John Currie, Gerry O’Connor, Colin Wiseman and Tom Govern, Don Barrett, Barry Pollock, John Molloy and Roger Huxstep.
Stan Odachowski, Colin Wiseman, Mario Andreola and Hans Bleeker remain on our sick list.
We had 3 guests on the day:-
1. Roger Huxstep was a guest of John Molloy;
2. Wayne Troedson was a guest of Peter Charlewood; and
3. Ken Chamberlain was a guest of Noel Manning.
Bernie thanked Robin Millar and Ronnie Chong for being our starters for the day.
There were three known special achievements in the past month.
(1) Alex Johnson won at Brighton off 28 with a net 57;
(2) Ray Desmond came equal first at Brighton in the Monthly Medal(playoff required); and,
(3) Bill Dooley won B grade at Brighton off 18 with 42pts.
He mentioned that the AGM would be held after these presentations and urged all to stay.
The 65th Anniversary polo shirts have been delayed and will be available at Keysborough.
No questions were asked and he handed over to the Captain.
Captain Donald welcomed members to Rossdale GC for today's event.
The CCR for the day was 37.
