On Monday 9 February 2015 we played at Rossdale Golf Club. Our game on the day was a 4BBB event for the Captain's/President's Trophy. Special thanks to our Captain, Donald for putting the pairs list together - quite a challenge.
President Bernie welcomed all members to Rossdale GC and thanked Rossdale for the use of their course and facilities.
He said there were 49 starters on the day.
Apologies were received from Malcolm Turner, Robin Millar,George Weaver, Lance Bolam and Lindsay Quennell.
----------------------------------
He advised that we had no guests today.
Bernie thanked our starters on the day, John Currie and Gary Finnis as it is not always easy to get a pairs event away.
He reminded members that we now have an agreement with the House of Golf at Brighton whereby they are subsidising all our winners vouchers, so please support Innes Ireland at the House of Golf in Brighton and tell them you are from the Vic Vets group.
Also our raffle prizes are quite valuable these days with up to four free games at some courses, so please support the raffle as much as you can.
He reiterated that there were none that we could see and stated that this is the first time we have not had a winner over the preceeding month. (There was an interuption to the effect that Laurie Comerford had a hole in one on the Rossdale 3rd on 30th Jan)
It is up and running - www.vetsgolfvic.org.au. Laurie is doing a great job in slowly improving it and trying to populate it with your names and photos where appropriate. Please get used to accessing it, as later this year it will be where you will read the Newsletter and see your photo when you win. Remember - www.vetsgolfvic.org.au.
Shirts, jumpers and caps are still available. See Daryl.
He reminded all that the AGM will be held immediately after the presentations, so he asked them all to please remain with us.
He asked whether there were any issues that members would like to raise. If you do not want to raise something publicly, he suggested that people see him later.
Bernie then handed over to Donald. Thank you.
Captain Donald welcomed members to Rossdale Golf Club for today's event.

Caddy: "It's not a watch sir - it's a compass."
Golfer: "How do you like my game?"
Caddy: "It's very good sir - but personally, I prefer golf."

We will go through a bit of a teething exercise with a few things 'not-quite-right', but as we gain experience in doing this we will be able to produce the newsletter with far less work for all involved.
